Butterfly Season by Ella Langley and Miranda Lambert
There comes a point in healing when you stop counting everything you've lost and begin noticing everything you've gained.
It isn't because life suddenly became easy.
It's because somewhere along the way... you changed.
For so long, I thought healing meant reaching a finish line. I thought one day I would wake up and all the hurt, disappointment, fear, and heartbreak would simply disappear.
But healing doesn't work that way.
Healing is found in the little moments.
It's laughing without guilt.
It's decorating a house that finally feels like home.
It's watching your children grow into incredible adults and realizing they are becoming strong, compassionate people despite everything life has thrown your way.
It's holding your grandson and understanding that love always finds a way to bloom again.
It's finding joy in creating with your own hands, chasing dreams you once put on hold, and believing that your future can be just as beautiful as your past was painful.
That's what "Butterfly Season" reminds me of.
A butterfly doesn't apologize for the caterpillar it once was.
It doesn't spend its life wishing it could crawl again.
It embraces the wings it fought so hard to earn.
I think so many of us do the opposite.
We replay old conversations.
We carry guilt that no longer belongs to us.
We wonder why some people still see an older version of who we used to be instead of the person we've become.
The truth is...
Not everyone will witness your transformation.
Some people only knew the version of you that was surviving.
They'll never fully understand the strength it took to become someone who chooses peace over chaos, kindness over bitterness, and hope over fear.
And that's okay.
Because healing was never about convincing other people you've changed.
Healing is about finally believing it yourself.
Looking back, I hardly recognize the woman I was a year ago.
She was exhausted.
She questioned her worth.
She carried burdens that were never hers to carry.
Today, I'm building a life rooted in peace.
I'm creating.
I'm laughing more.
I'm making memories with my family.
I'm planning craft fairs that fill my heart.
I'm embracing my role as Gigi with overwhelming gratitude.
I'm finding beauty in quiet mornings, woodland walks, mushrooms growing after the rain, and the simple comfort of a home that feels safe.
Life isn't perfect.
There are still difficult days.
There are still moments that test me.
But they no longer define me.
Like a butterfly leaving its cocoon, I've learned that growth often happens in places no one else can see.
Every tear.
Every setback.
Every lesson.
Every small victory.
They all became part of the wings I carry today.
Maybe that's what butterfly season really is.
Not waiting for life to become perfect...
But realizing you've already become stronger than the storms you survived.
So if you're in a season where everything feels uncertain, don't give up.
Keep growing.
Keep believing.
Keep choosing yourself.
One day you'll look back and realize you were never falling apart.
You were growing wings.
🦋 Here's to every person finding the courage to embrace their own butterfly season.
