The Soundtrack to My Healing
There are some things words alone can’t carry.
Some feelings that don’t want to be explained—only felt.
For me, music has always been that place.
Long before I had the language for what I was experiencing…
Before I understood why I felt lonely in rooms that weren’t empty…
Before I knew I was slowly breaking apart and rebuilding at the same time—
music was already speaking to me.
This blog exists because of that.
As part of my Rising Phoenix journey, I wanted to create a space that feels honest, human, and healing—not just for me, but for anyone who has ever leaned on a song to survive a moment they couldn’t explain. Squarespace gives me the freedom to hold more than one story here, and this one feels especially close to my heart. It allows people to get to know me not just through my words, but through the music that held me when words failed.
Some of these songs found me during my healing.
Some found me long before I ever left what was hurting me.
And some… I didn’t understand at all when I first heard them—only now do I realize they were preparing me.
Music has a way of telling the truth gently.
It doesn’t rush you.
It doesn’t demand clarity.
It simply sits with you until you’re ready.
Through this musical blog, I’ll be sharing songs that helped me process grief, find strength, reclaim my voice, soften again, and slowly learn to trust myself. I’ll talk about the lyrics that stayed, the moments they met me in, and what they helped me heal—sometimes quietly, sometimes painfully, always honestly.
This isn’t about having it all figured out.
It’s about honoring the journey.
It’s about recognizing that healing doesn’t always come as a breakthrough—sometimes it comes as a song playing at exactly the right time.
If you’re reading this and music has ever felt like a lifeline to you too, I hope you find pieces of yourself here. And maybe, in these shared melodies, you’ll feel a little less alone—and a little more understood.
This is my soundtrack of becoming.
Welcome to it.
